Fawn Lopez is Publisher Emeritus of Modern Healthcare. Prior to her retirement on January 1, 2023, Fawn was publisher of the industry’s leading source of healthcare business and policy news, research, and information for healthcare executives since 2005.

Fawn dedicated her entire professional career to the publishing industry. Prior to joining Modern Healthcare, she held the position of National Sales Director for Crain’s Chicago Business. Before joining Crain’s Chicago Business, Fawn served as Advertising Director at the Kansas City Business Journal in Kansas City, Missouri.

Currently, Fawn actively serves as a board member of two privately held company, SourceOne Global Partners and GeoCann, where her expertise and insights contribute to their strategic direction and decision-making processes. In addition, she holds a position on the Dean’s advisory board for DePaul University-College of Communication. Fawn’s dedication to professional networks is evident through her memberships in Women of Impact: Leaders in Health and Healthcare, and The Health Alliance. She is also a fellow of The Institute of Medicine of Chicago.

Fawn has a passion for fostering and driving diversity, equity, and inclusion, not only in her organization, but also throughout the healthcare industry. Moreover, she embraces her role as a champion and an advocate for advancing health equity for all.

Rory McCrimmon trained at the University of Edinburgh and completed his clinical and speciality training in the South-East of Scotland. In 2002, he joined the faculty at Yale University, USA, to investigate why people with type 1 are very prone to developing low glucose (Hypoglycaemia). He returned to Scotland in 2009 to establish his laboratory at the University of Dundee, where he is currently Dean of Medicine, Professor of Experimental Diabetes and Metabolism and Honorary Consultant. He was awarded the 2015 RD Lawrence Lecture and 2022 Dorothy Hodgkin Lecture by Diabetes UK for his research in Hypoglycaemia, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

Rory has served on the Editorial Boards of Diabetologia, Diabetes, Diabetes Care and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. He has been a panel member for Medical Research Council Population and Systems Medicine Board, Diabetes UK Clinical Studies Group Management Committee; Diabetes UK, Intermediate Clinical Fellowships Panel; Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Scientific Review Boards PEAK Programme; he is an executive member of the International Hypoglycaemia Study Group and a non-executive member of the NHS Tayside Health Board.

He is currently also Lead Clinician for the Scottish Diabetes Research Network which supports the setup and delivery of clinical and epidemiological research across Scotland.

Amy Perry was appointed Banner Health’s president and chief operating officer on November 1, 2021. Prior to this, she served as Atlantic Health System’s executive vice president and CEO of the Hospital Division from February of 2017. During her tenure, Atlantic Health experienced record setting quality and financial results achieving the highest US News rankings in the state. She championed the development and implementation of a five-year strategic plan for the system that created a path to success under growing value reimbursement. Mission driven, she supported the expansion of medical education with a longitudinal integrated clerkship and research revenue growth of 36 percent. Her work to develop destination service lines and expanded points of access created a network of care for nearly 1 million unique lives. She promoted affordability and access by integrating care across the system and leading the development of an enterprise data platform to drive clinical excellence and operational performance. Most recently, she focused on driving consumer-facing digital solutions to create frictionless experiences.

Amy has been named to Modern Healthcare’s lists of the Top 25 Women Leaders and Top 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare. She was recognized as NJBiz Innovator of the Year in 2019 and the Daily Record Maryland Innovator of the Year in 2016.

Prior to joining Atlantic Health System, Amy was the executive vice president at LifeBridge Health in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to LifeBridge, she had a twenty-year career at Mount Sinai in Miami, Florida.

Amy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, and her Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Barry University. She served on the Regional Policy Board of the American Hospital Association and the boards of the New Jersey and Maryland Hospital Associations.

Shaun Francis

Shaun Francis is the Chair and CEO of Medcan Health Management Inc. Medcan is a leader in proactive, preventative health care and wellness services, delivering care that helps their clients live well, for life.

Prior to Medcan, Shaun was the Executive Chair of New York City’s EHE, an American leader in preventive medicine. He was one of the founding employees and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Dallas-based Broadlane, Inc., a leading business process outsourcer for American hospitals. Prior to Broadlane, Shaun worked for Morgan Stanley’s New York and Toronto investment banking divisions.

Throughout his life, Shaun has been recognized for the contributions he has made to the wellbeing of veterans. In 2010, Canada’s then Chief of Defence Staff, General Walter Natynczyk, awarded Shaun the Canadian Forces Medallion for Distinguished Service, the military’s highest recognition for a civilian. In 2013, he was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by then Senator Linda Frum and the Minister of Veterans Affairs, Steven Blaney. He currently serves on the board of the Fraser Institute and is the Chair of the True Patriot Love Foundation, which he founded to benefit Canada’s military families.

Shaun enjoys endurance sports and in 2012 co-led an expedition to Everest Base Camp and the summit of Island Peak. The expedition featured 12 injured Canadian soldiers, raising funds and awareness for the True Patriot Love Foundation and injured veterans. Shaun is married to Stacy Francis and is father to Robert, William, and Christopher. Born and raised in Canada, he has lived with his family in the United States, the United Kingdom and France, and has travelled extensively throughout the world.
